Terry is a dedicated pet professional with a lifelong love of animals, people and the outdoors. Originally from Nebraska, she graduated from Colorado State University with a BA in Sociology before building a career centered on supporting children, families, and communities. Her background has strengthened her communication skills and her ability to create calm, trusting relationships; whether with humans or their pets.

Now living on a small farm just off the Blue Ridge Parkway in Weaverville, Terry shares her life with her partner, David; her two children, a 17 yr old daughter, Lyla, and her 20 year old son, Mason, and a beloved crew of rescue animals. Their animals include Bubbles, a spicy siamese mix cat, Julep a blind lab/shepard mix, Max, a small llasha mix; and two horses, Wahoo a 29 yr old Arab mix, and Eve, a rescue Arab mix, learning how to interact and trust humans.

Terry operates her own small business, You are Herd, where she pairs humans with her horses to help people learn more about themselves and their relationships through communication, connection and presence.

Surrounded by animals every day, Terry brings genuine compassion, patience, and joy to her work, ensuring every pet and every person she works with feels safe, valued, and understood.
